The three most important chapters we read in the Omnivores Dilemma and class readings has to be the chapter slaughter in Omnivores Dilemma Mccloud and Asimov . Out of all the readings these theree stood out to me more then any others because of differnt reasons. First of the chapeter slaughter really stood out to me because I never really new the brutality chickens went thru in order for them to be killed. It kind of open my eyes to the whole meat industry. I new they would kill the chickens but not in the way they did like making them hang there and let there blood drip down. Also the harsh conditions they made them live in also got to me because even though they were about to be killed I dont think they should be tortured before they are put to death and be treated like they have no feelings at all. This is why this chapter stood out to me more then any in Omnivores Dilemma. Another reading that stood out to me is Mccloud just because I found it to be very interesting to read. I never really thought about her amazing our brain is before he explained it to us and how we are able to pick out symbols and shapes and put names on them inside our brains. I also like how he talked about how we relate to cartoons and how our brains connects two dots and a line to a face.I found this to be one of the most intersting readings ive read so far. Another reading I found interesting was Asmimov. I found this interesting because I realized that just because all people might not be booksmart doesnt make them dumb. Many people are smart in there own area of work or study which makes them smart in that area of work. I like the example Asimov presented to us as well it was easy to understand what he was saying. These are my favorite readings because I found them to be interesting to me.

BLO 8
When Pollan approached this sitauation on how are meat is made he did it in a very reasonable way. He displayed both sides of the situation. He showed the negatives and he showed the postives to how the animals and our meat were being treating and how they were killed. I agree with his theory on this because I think you should approach a situation with an open mind like he did. He really allowed both sides to telll there story without really adding his two cents into it. But the one animal that really bothered me that was being killed was the chicken. The way Pollan describrs how it was basically tortured and just left to die wasnt really a hummane way to live. They would just hang the chickens up to bleed out after they cut them which kinda mad me relate to this animal the most because I belive in eating meat and animals but I think it should at leas be done in a humae or at least a less violent way. But his theory of appraoching a situation with an open mind I best relate to because I believe if you do that you will be able to get the full facts of both sides of the arguement like he did/
